There is no greater support for people living with diabetes than that of friendship and community.

Just after her 2nd birthday
I started this blog on August 16, 2007 at 3 AM. I'm not sure what drove me to begin writing about my life as the father of a child with type 1 diabetes, but I'm positive about why I continue — I love being a part of the diabetes online community.

My wife Kelly and I have been married since 1996. We have two children — a son, Cole, and our daughter, Arden. Arden was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just after her second birthday in 2006.
I've been a full-time stay-at-home dad since Cole was born in February of 2000. I became a published author when my award-winning parenting memoir, Life Is Short, Laundry Is Eternal: Confessions of a Stay-At-Home Dad, was released in 2013.
Sometimes when people ask me what I do I say that I'm a writer — but most days, I proudly respond: "I'm a stay-at-home dad."
